Credit Monsters

First step is to rebuilding your credit is knowing thou credit score!  These websites I use on a regular: Credit Karma, Credit Sesame, and Quizzle.  What are the differences?

For those who do not know, there are three main credit bureaus: Transunion, Experian, and Equifax. Credit card companies, lenders, debt collections agencies all report the good and bad to these bureaus.  Credit Karma pulls from Transunion, Credit Sesame from Experian, and Quizzle from Equifax.  Please note, these sites do not provide your FICO score, but your FAKO score that gives you an idea of where you stand.  Click here for more information about FAKO scores.

None do not require a credit card to get started!  Credit Karma updates weekly (in which I love), Credit Sesame updates monthly, and Quizzle every six months.  Right now only Credit Karma and Credit Sesame provide mobile apps.  You can have notifications sent via email or text of any changes to your score.  All provide recommended credit cards and lenders based on your credit score.

Credit Sesame has a very useful blog in which I check sporadically that provide tips on how to manage your money, how to properly utilize credit cards, and much more.  Click here to visit their blog.

These sites also provides a credit report.  Quizzle is the only one that offers a full credit report every six months, Credit Karma and Credit Sesame only offer a partial report.  I recommend using annualcreditreport.com to get your FREE and full FICO report 12 months.  When it is time to make a  big purchase, you can go directly to each credit bureau to get your FICO score for a small fee (currently at $7.95 per report).

Which site is best?  All of them.  Lenders may pull from one or all three credit bureaus!  Your credit CAN be rebuilt.  Take control over your finances starting with these free useful sites.
